"I already had contact with Prof. Zimmermann, the founder of the company, during my studies in information technology. After completing my studies in 1996, I started at INFORM as developer. After the birth of my daughter I took it easy for a while before taking care of software implementation as technical project manager in important large projects in the terminal logistics sector. For For the last one and a half years I have been responsible for the development of our terminal software. I co-ordinate a team of developers, which is continuously working at aligning our software with the special requirements of the large handling sites."
What is so special to you about INFORM?
The work atmosphere here is great, where everyone can contribute according to his perceptions and develop further. This allows the combination of a high degree of technical professionalism with a relaxed internal atmosphere.
How were you accepted at INFORM?
I was welcomed with open arms and was very well supported, especially in the beginning. Somebody was always available to properly explain important issues.
Which aspects do you find particularly challenging in your job?
Being responsible for technical development of our software, I am particularly interested in the opportunities offered by new technologies. As manager of a group of developers, I am, however, also interested in measures enhancing team building. The joining of different characters in such a way that they can successfully work together and enjoy it, presents a special challenge.
What does your typical working day look like?
My main effort is the successful technical implementation of our projects. I conduct co-ordination meetings with our customers and partners and manage assignment planning of our developers. Besides this I regularly meet with my developers in small groups in order to consult about the next steps in a project in conceptualisation discussions. The nice thing about that is, that despite a full program, there always is enough time to talk about non-professional things over a cup of coffee.
What are your career goals?
I would like to successfully complete our current projects.
