"I have been working for INFORM since April 2006. The advertisement of the position in a career portal perfectly matched my qualifications. After I had initially studied industrial engineering at the University of Applied Science of Cologne, I completed the study course technical logistics at the University of Duisburg-Essen. During this time I spent one semester at the East London Business School in London and completed a half year internship with a transport service provider in France. As project assistant at INFORM I oversee numerous projects, where I am primarily responsible for customer support.”
What is so special to you about INFORM?
Besides the exceptionally good working atmosphere, which I already noticed during the job interview, flexible working hours appeal to me most.
This way I have the leeway to select when I want to start in the morning and when I leave in the evening, within the framework of contractual agreement. This leaves enough time for hobbies.
How were you accepted at INFORM?
All colleagues were very helpful right from the start. All questions I had were answered eagerly and comprehensively. I could quickly establish good contacts, of which some friendships have already developed.
Which aspects do you find particularly challenging in your job?
I find it particularly exciting always having to place myself into the problem situations of the customer. It really is fun to find solutions for these problems and then to implement these solutions in software.
What does your typical working day look like?
After a first cup of coffee and a chat with colleagues, I first answer e-mails from customers. Then there are meetings at regular intervals where important information is exchanged between programmers, sales and project management. Days when I have to work on site at customer’s premises are always a pleasant change from the normal daily routine. Among others this entails presenting our software or to demonstrate confident handling of our software in training sessions.
What are your career goals?
I am looking forward to fulfil the position of project manager in future. Besides that I would just like to retain the satisfaction I am presently experiencing.
