INFORM develops software systems with decision making intelligence. The company differentiates itself from traditional IT companies by this specialisation. While classical IT systems merely manage data and leave decision making to the users, the IT systems of INFORM can quasi "think for themselves", i.e. they can independently make optimised decisions. The technology for this is Operations Research.
Since 1985 turnover has increased by a factor of 120. This corresponds to an annual growth rate of 24% over 22 years in succession, with consistently positive results. The number of employees has risen from 5 to more than 300 during the same period, representing almost 30 nations.
Application fields and customers
INFORM is divided into 5 divisions:
Customers are international corporate groups like ABB, Air Canada, Air France, Allianz, Audi, AXA, BMW, Bosch, British Airways, DaimlerChrysler, Deutsche Bank, Dupont, EADS, Fraport, Hanson Australia, Henkel, Leica, Linde, Lufthansa, MAN, MTU, Merck, Michelin, Qantas, Rhenus, Siemens, Schweizer Post, ThyssenKrupp Steel, Voest-Alpine, VOITH, VW, Züricher, etc., and more than 400 medium-sized and small companies.
The export component is about 50% with focal point Europe, but also with projects in remote sites like Seattle, Toronto, New York, Atlanta, Monterrey, Sao Paulo, Casablanca, Johannesburg, Istanbul, Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore, Sydney, Brisbane, and Tokyo.
